March: Bloom Day

After the floral glitz of last week's garden show, my own garden is a big let-down! I only have two little tufts of snowdrops blooming.

Luckily I can enjoy my next door neighbor's much more impressive display instead.

The blooms will be so much better next month! In the meantime, check out everyone else's blooms, hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens.

I wish my neighbors gardened like yours. Their display of snowdrops is beautiful. (Not that yours aren't, they just need a few years to fill in.)

Your snowdrops are lovely, and they'll take encouragement and inspiration from your neighbour's. It's just so nice to see something blooming outdoors, isn't it? Dare we proclaim that spring is actually here?

. . . and here I sit, once again regretting I didn't plant enough bulbs last fall - still no snowdrops here. Maybe fall 2010 will be the year I finally bite the bullet and get some bulbs in the ground. (I did however plant some alliums, thanks to SF last year, and yay - they're coming up!)

Well, at least you have a few snowdrops, Diane! I haven't seen a sign of mine yet--I'm a little worried that Sophie may have dug them up last fall after seeing me plant them:)

Enjoyed your post on the Chicago Flower Show so much! It's so interesting to see all the different perspectives of people attending the show; now I realize I missed several parts of the "Alice" display. But I agree with you on some of the other exhibits, because many of the same elements caught me eye.

So glad you snagged the little hedgehog! I was tempted by him, too, but I had vowed not to buy too much this year--last year I got a little carried away:)

Your blooms aren't as large as your neighbors, but that doesn't make it any less impressive.

Heck, at least you have something blooming. I've still got a couple of weeks to go before my bulbs do anything.

I do miss snowdrops! And daffs! Way too hot in Miami for such delights. But at least I can enjoy your photos. :)
