I am so pleased you posted these photos because I do plan on visiting this garden hopefully in the coming year. Thank you for dating them..what a change through the different months. Beautiful!

Oh my, in Chicago! And no one has taken me there. Incredible. I will be going, that's for sure, on my next visit to see relatives. Thanks so much for posting and to Lucy Foley for alerting me.

Wow! Just...wow. What a feast of colour, and set in a cityscape, too. The amsonia in the second photo at the paviolion (the yellow foliage) is the Perennial Plant of the Year for 2011. I'm so thrilled about that!

Beautiful photos, Diane, and thanks so much for posting these (along with last week's)! I was so captivated by the Lurie at last year's Spring Fling, but I've never had the chance to visit it since then. I always wondered what it looked like the rest of the year. Although the spring view is still my favorite, it does have a beautiful prairie vista all year long. Thanks again!

Beautiful. Since we went there for Spring Fling I've wanted to take a picture from the exact same spot in the Lurie once a month for an entire year. It never works because I don't remember where the spot is whenever I go back.

Nice! I was thinking of doing a similar post from my photos, and now I don't have too. :)

Fantastic Diane! The seasonal changes at the Lurie are so beautiful, and you've done a great job capturing them.

Thanks to Jodi for the info on perennial plant of the year. I hadn't checked yet. I'm thrilled too - a native selection two years in row - wow - that's wonderful!

Pretty cool Diane! I have photos in three seasons, but not from the same spots as you've done. I haven't seen it snow-covered yet in person. (just can't seem to make myself go down there this time of year.)

I really want to see the Vivian Maier exhibit at the Cultural Center - maybe that will get me to the Lurie too.

The Lurie garden looks fantastic. I have only driven through Chicago once when I was a mere teen, but now that would be daunting to me. But a garden as wonderful as this would make it so worth the trip from north WI. WoW! Thanks for sharing...what's the purple? It's beautiful.
